Appcharge is a DTC payments platform for game publishers, helping them sell in-game products through branded webstores and increase profitability outside traditional app marketplaces.

As the company evolved, they wanted their website to shift from feeling like a young gaming startup into a mature industry leader trusted by major publishers.

Mature Gaming Meets Clear Storytelling

The previous website relied heavily on flashy animations and gaming aesthetics, but lacked structure and clarity around the product itself. The redesign focused on creating a more mature and premium experience while keeping Appcharge’s bold gaming DNA.

Working closely with the Head of Design and PMM, I helped shape the storytelling across the website through organized layouts, subtle motion, and digestible product explanations. One key shift was replacing a generic SaaS-style hero with a more cinematic direction that focused on Appcharge’s global impact and player experience.

Process and Challenges

The project was highly collaborative and iterative, involving the Head of Design, CMO, PMM, developers, and founders. One of the biggest challenges was designing pages that felt cohesive while giving each product page its own identity and flow.

Instead of relying on repetitive SaaS layouts, I created flexible section structures and storytelling approaches tailored to different product narratives.

Visual Language

The visual language combines clean typography, vibrant colors, asymmetrical layouts, and subtle motion. A consistent iPhone frame system helped highlight the connection between the game experience and the Appcharge infrastructure underneath it.

One feature I’m especially proud of is the “Why Appcharge” page, where I turned four company metrics into an interactive scrolling story using gaming-inspired visuals and micro-interactions to amplify their impact.

A Website That Became the Face of the Company

The redesign helped reposition Appcharge as a serious industry leader and aligned the company with larger enterprise clients and publishers. The website became a central touchpoint across sales, partnerships, recruiting, investor conversations, social media, booth design, and presentations.

The response internally was extremely positive. The CEO and team felt the new website finally reflected the real Appcharge and the level the company had grown into.
